Hamid Fehri is a Senior AI Researcher with over a decade of experience developing and applying advanced artificial intelligence across research and industry. His work spans machine learning, computer vision, probabilistic modelling, and, more recently, agentic AI systems, with a focus on using cutting-edge AI to support complex decision-making and automation at scale.
Hamid holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield, where his research focused on mathematical and deep learning models for image analysis. He later joined the University of Oxford’s Big Data Institute as a postdoctoral researcher, developing AI models for clinical imaging and cancer prediction using large-scale biomedical datasets.
At Shell, Hamid has led and delivered AI initiatives across machine vision, anomaly detection, and industrial automation, including intelligent inspection systems used for asset maintenance and large-scale ML platforms. His current work includes agentic AI for MLOps and probabilistic modelling for scientific and industrial data analysis.
Hamid brings a perspective shaped by both academic research and real-world deployment, with a particular interest in how AI can help organisations make better decisions, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate innovation in complex industries.
