Karina Fernandez

Karina has 20+ years of experience in various IT, Digital and Technology leadership roles in Shell. She has been in the Asset Management domain working with Shell’s Upstream, Integrated Gas and Downstream Chemicals and Products (manufacturing) businesses for the past 15 years, being an active change agent for digital transformation, working closely with multiple assets/countries, guiding them on their Data and Digitalization journeys. Karina had also pioneered and setup Shell’s enterprise Digital Twin programme. In her current role as GM Emerging Digital Technologies, with her team, they drive digital innovation and the discovery of scalable digital solutions in the areas of Blockchain and Web 3, IoT & Edge Computing, High Performance Computing, XR and the Metaverse, and lead the Digital Twin innovation programme. Karina is based out of Shell’s Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam. She is married and lives in The Hague with her husband and their 4 delightful children
