Position: Managing Director, Technology Ventures, Wintershall Dea
Dr. Andreas Berger is currently the General Manager of Wintershall Dea Technology Ventures, the venture capital arm of Wintershall Dea, responsible for integrating innovative concepts and technologies into the core business with the goal to create value for our operations through cost reduction, increased recovery of hydrocarbons, reduction of environmental footprint or reduction of subsurface uncertainty as well as supporting the CCS & Hydrogen Business by investing in relevant technologies. Before joining Wintershall Dea, Andreas ramped-up a Silicon Valley Innovation & Investment Center for innogy SE, where he spearheaded seven venture investments in US-Startup's as well as an investment in the Westly Group and eight partnership-agreements with Silicon Valley companies. He also initiated the Free Electron Global Accelerator Program, where startups get the chance to work alongside leading energy utilities from around the globe to deliver cutting edge solutions and co-create the future of energy. Overall, Andreas is an experienced energy executive with fundamental experience as a founder and business owner himself.
