Dr Angus Murray

Angus is currently head of IT for TAQA across Europe, responsible for 2000+ users. This includes 5 offshore installations in the North Sea, 2 in the Netherlands sector and the Bergermeer and PGI Gas Storage facilities in the Netherlands.

Previously Angus worked as a consultant advising companies on IT Strategies and ERP Programmes, having previously programme managed a number of ERP implementations. Prior to this he managed the IT scope for a number of acquisitions including the Dunlin asset from Shell, then the TAQA Assets from Shell, before leading the IT scope for Harding purchase from BP.

Recently Angus has been involved in the formalisation of the Heads of IT Forum, bringing together 26 Operators and Major Supply Chain partners to share lessons and collaborate on IT and digital initiatives. He is currently Chair of the Forum and a member of the Technology Leadership Board, under the Oil and Gas Authority MER Programme.

Although having been in IT within the Oil industry for over 20 years, Angus started with a degree in Engineering, before undertaking a PhD sponsored by the MOD in Artificial Intelligence.
