Position: Head of Software Engineering, PETRONAS
Tan Hua Jin (James) began his career with PETRONAS in 2014 as a Technical Architect, where he was responsible for operational technology integration for PETRONAS Upstream. He increased the use of operational data and combined it with enterprise data, resulting in a variety of predictive and prescriptive applications for engineering disciplines such as instrumentation, process, rotating machinery, and electrical, as well as delivering an application for end-to-end downstream oil supply chain management.
He is currently the Head of Software Engineering for PETRONAS Gas Business, where he is responsible for developing the company's first Digital Twin Solution for operations and maintenance teams, as well as delivering the end-to-end management dashboard and LNG Portfolio optimization for PETRONAS Gas Business.
Prior to PETRONAS, James spent eight years designing, delivering, installing, and supporting value-added OSISoft PI System solutions in the Oil & Gas, Utility, and Power Generation sectors throughout the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
