Position: UK Energy Transition Manager at Shell
In Jo’s early career she worked for Shell in oil and gas field development, national energy planning, economics and business development in the Netherlands, Brunei, Oman, UAE and Malaysia. In 2011 Jo joined the Energy Technologies Institute, a public-private partnership accelerating innovation in support of the UK’s energy transition. Jo led the ETI’s team of energy system modellers, sector and policy experts exploring energy transition pathways and the opportunities and challenges in delivering them in each sector.
Jo returned to Shell in 2018 and is driving Shell’s energy transition strategy in the UK, aligning it to the Government’s Net Zero targets. Jo is an independent member of the Governments Net Zero Innovation Board and also advises the Energy Futures Lab at Imperial College and the British Geological Survey. Jo was awarded an OBE in 2018 and is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the IMechE.
