John Hudson

John is Digital Capabilities Lead for Shell in Upstream Development, supporting the evolution of staff development, leadership and technology that drive improvements in subsurface and wells-related technical workflows.  He has more than 25 years of experience in subsurface software, flow assurance, wells and production system design and technology development in technical and managerial positions in Europe and North America.  His activities have included lead roles in the development of an integrated reservoir and IPSM simulator and model-based, cloud deployed, digital twin systems.  John holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois.  He is an SPE Co-Chair for Energy-in-Data, a joint initiative with SEG and AAPG, and can be reached at www.linkedin.com/in/hudsonjohnd.
