In June 2016, GHGSat launched the world’s first and only satellite capable of measuring greenhouse gas (CO2 & CH4) emissions from any industrial facility in the world. GHGSat is using this unique satellite to provide affordable and accurate greenhouse gas emissions monitoring data and services globally. 

Since the launch, thousands of measurements have been performed at hundreds of sites around the world including oil & gas facilities, power plants, coal mines, landfills, hydroelectric reservoirs and others. 

Our patented instrument on board our satellite allows for monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions from space using spectrometry in the Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) band. For the oil and gas industry, we provide data and advanced analytics on fugitive methane emissions. 

Our second satellite is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2019 and the third one in the first half of 2020.
